I Learned the Hard Way That Not Everyone Is Your Friend

I Used to Believe Everyone Was My Friend 🙂

When I was younger, I thought friendship was easy.
If we talked every day, laughed in school, sat together — I thought that was friendship.

At school, I knew many people.
Group chats, jokes, hanging out.
From outside, it looked like I had a lot of friends.

But inside… something felt missing.

Slowly, I Started to Notice Things 👀

Over time, I noticed patterns.

Some people were close only when:

  • they needed help
  • they wanted something
  • I was useful to them

But when I became quiet…
When I had problems…
When I stopped giving value…

They slowly disappeared.

No fights.
No big arguments.
Just silence.

මට ඒ වෙලාවෙ හිතට වැදුනේ මෙකයි —
not everyone who smiles with you really cares about you.

Feeling Alone Even With People Around 😔

The worst feeling is not being alone.

The worst feeling is being surrounded by people
but still having no one to talk to when your mind is heavy.

I went through days like that.
At school.
At home.
Inside my own head.

That’s when I learned a hard truth:

Some people are not your friends.
They’re just there because it’s convenient.

And when convenience ends, they leave.

What Being Alone Taught Me 🧠✨

Being alone changed me.

I learned to:

  • watch actions more than words
  • understand who stays and who leaves
  • stop explaining myself to everyone

Most importantly, I learned this:

One true friend is better than many fake ones.

Quality matters more than quantity.

I’m Not Angry — I’m Aware

This blog is not written with hate.

I don’t blame anyone.
People act based on who they are.

Losing fake friends helped me understand myself better.
It gave me space to grow, think, and focus on my life.

And honestly, I’m thankful for that lesson.

If You’re Reading This 🤍

If you feel alone right now,
you’re not weak.

You’re just learning.

Sometimes life removes people
to teach us who really matters.
